There is a growing white supremacist genocide denial movement in so-called Canada.
On September 27th members of the Second Sons, a white nationalist militia, marched on unceded Secwépemc territory carrying racist banners near a former residential school where mass graves of Indigenous children were discovered.
This action was timed to occur three days before National Truth and Reconciliation Day a flawed and limited attempt to acknowledge Canada’s genocide of Indigenous peoples.
The Second Sons are tightly connected to the so-called ‘Active Clubs’ movement and have called to remove non-white people from Canada at gunpoint.
The Secwépemc have a long history of resistance to Canadian colonialism, including the Gustaffson Lake standoff in 1995, and more recently, the Tiny House Warrior movement, launched in resistance to the TransMountain Pipeline project.
White supremacy is inherent to settler colonialism.
Settler anarchists have a special responsibility to support Indigenous sovereignty and confront white nationalists wherever they rear their ugly heads.
